Accelerator is a substance that acts to promote the vulcanization. In rubber formulations is mainly used to accelerate the vulcanization reaction and enhance the physical properties of the rubber (tensile strength, elongation, ...), and chemical properties (resistance, chemical resistance, solvent resistance, high temperature ...). Can be broadly divided into inorganic and organic accelerators  two categories.

Because sulfur accelerator is added to rubber compound allows it to accelerate the cure rate and shorten the curing time and increase productivity.
